The University's Division of Intercollegiate Athletics will soon be constructing what head coach Mike Small refers to as "the best indoor golf facility in college golf".  The multi level all inclusive indoor golf teaching centre will span 13,800 sq ft and feature 7,700 sq ft putting, chipping an pitching area, 1,500 sq ft putting green on mezzanine level, six heated hitting bays onto an outdoor driving range with two having video analysis equipment, full locker facilities, golf club repair room, 1,500 sq ft team lounge, study area with PCs

Illinois golf is one of the nation's top 25 programmes and a perennial Big Ten title contender.

Head coach Mike Small took up the position after a decade of professional golf, including five years on the PGA, Nike and Buy.com tours.  He has since led the golf team to two of its most successful seasons in school history.
